Pune, Aug 20 : Senior NCP leader and party’s Pune district unit president Deepak Mankar has expressed that the party workers will make their leader Ajit Pawar as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra soon.

Addressing a large gathering on Saturday night following distribution of appointments letters to more than 300 office-bearers by state party president (Ajit Pawar group) Sunil Tatkare here, he said, “Sharad Pawar is our god, and we worship him like that, but how many times should a leader bear injustice.”

He further said that the political atmosphere of the state has changed after Ajit Pawar joined the Eknath Shinde government for the development of Maharashtra. Citing an example of Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Mankar said, “Just as the members of 18 Pagad caste extended support to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj when he established the Hindavi Swarajya, we will support Ajit Pawar in the same way for strengthening the party and also for development of the state.”

Speaking on occasion, Tatkare said, “We have not abandoned our ideology like other party leaders, we are followers of Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj-Jyotiba Phule-Dr B R Ambedkar. Under the leadership of Ajit Pawar, we have taken decisions for the welfare of all communities… We will not give up our ideology while working in the state government.”

He also expressed that few other senior leaders who have not come with Ajit Pawar so far, will join them soon. Rupali Chakankar, state NCP women’s wing president, was also present for the event.
