Alandi: Nitin Gadkari surveys Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi Marg
Union minister for roadway transport and highways today, March 11 surveyed the Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi Marg (NH 965), a 234 km road Hadapsar (Pune), Saswad – Jejuri – Nira – Lonand – Natepute – Malshiras – Bondle – Wakhri – Pandharpur. This four lane road has separate road for Palkhi marg which is included in the road.
There are 12 Palkhi spots on this route and has all facilities for the Warkaris. The road has several trees planted to provide enough shade and greenery, and will also have sculptures and murals of the leaders which will beautify the area. The palkhi marg will have specific trees like Sandalwood, Tulsi, Banyan, Neem, Tamarind. At present, the road has 57,200 plants planted in the median while 18,840 trees on both the sides, (9,000 approx on either side).
