Pune News : 700 citizens oppose Paud – Bal Bharati road plan
Pune: Many citizens have filed an online petition to stop the tendering process of construction of Paud Phata -Balbharti road on portal ‘Change.org’ addressed to civic authority.
So far the petition has gathered about more than 700 supporters in the last 24 hours.
As per Paresh Lodha, an online petitioner the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has finalised tenders worth of Rs 320 crore for the proposed Paud Phata to Balbharti link road which will be issued in a couple of weeks. According to the PMC administration, the proposed road will have a major elevated section. If the road is constructed, then it will destroy the Vetal -Hanuman tekdi. Also environmental damage will be done which is irreversible. Lodha further told that, this proposed road is anyway not going to solve the traffic woes then administration is forcing to implement this project ?
Lodha further said that he will be in contact with a few NGO’s and studying all technical possibilities in order to deal with this issue.
