New Delhi: Alia Bhatt has become the latest victim of deepfake technology, sparking concern among fans and the public. A new deepfake video shows Alia Bhatt participating in the “get ready with me” trend on Instagram. The video, which portrays her getting ready in a black kurta and applying makeup, quickly went viral.

This is not the first time Alia has been targeted by deepfakes. Earlier, a video merging her face with actor Wamiqa Gabbi’s face circulated widely. Another disturbing deepfake showed a woman with Alia’s face making obscene gestures.

Many Instagram users expressed their alarm. “AI is getting dangerous day by day,” one user commented. Another said, “I am getting scared of AI now.” A friend of Alia added, “I hope you have consent for using AI that uses real human faces.”

Deepfakes use advanced AI algorithms to create synthetic media, manipulating both visuals and audio to create realistic, but fake, videos.

Other celebrities like Rashmika Mandanna, Kajol, Katrina Kaif, Aamir Khan, Ranveer Singh, and Sara Tendulkar have also been targeted by deepfakes.

The government has urged social media platforms like Instagram to ensure users follow the IT Act’s rules against prohibited content. Violating these rules can lead to a ₹1 lakh fine and three years in jail.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also highlighted the dangers of AI misuse. “During the times of Artificial Intelligence, it is important that technology should be used responsibly,” he warned.

Alia Bhatt has not commented on the latest deepfake video.
