Amarnath Yatra 2025: Registrations Open For Sacred Pilgrimage From July 3 To August 9

Jammu and Kashmir, April 14, 2025: Registrations for the annual Amarnath Yatra 2025 have officially begun. The pilgrimage, one of the most revered Hindu journeys to the sacred Amarnath Cave shrine in the South Kashmir Himalayas, will be conducted from July 3 to August 9, 2025, as per the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB).
This year, both online and offline registration options are available for devotees planning to undertake the trek to the naturally formed ice Lingam, believed to be a manifestation of Lord Shiva. The SASB has emphasized that advance registration is mandatory for all pilgrims.
Online Registration Process:
- 1. Visit the official SASB website and click on the ‘Advance Registration’ link.
- 2. Read the guidelines, accept the terms, and proceed to register.
- 3. Enter personal details, upload a passport-size photo and the Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC).
- 4. Verify your mobile number using the OTP received.
- 5. A payment link will be sent within two hours.
- 6. Pay the registration fee (approx. ₹220 per person).
- 7. Upon successful payment, download the Yatra Registration Permit.
Pilgrims can register at over 540 designated bank branches across India or at centers in Jammu including Vaishnavi Dham, Panchayat Bhawan, and Mahajan Hall.
- – A token slip is issued three days prior to the yatra date.
- – Medical check-up and RFID card collection must be completed at designated centres like Saraswati Dham.
- – Pahalgam Route: Traditional, longer route
- – Baltal Route: Shorter but steeper option
Group Registrations:
Group bookings are also open for parties of five or more on a first-come, first-served basis.
Do’s:
- – Collect the RFID Card before starting the yatra
- – Carry Aadhaar card and wear RFID tag during the trek
- – Prepare for harsh weather and carry woolens, rain gear, and ID
Don’ts:
- – Pilgrims without RFID cards will not be allowed to proceed
- – Avoid alcohol, smoking, and high-caffeine drinks
- – Do not ignore high-altitude sickness symptoms
- – Respect environmental guidelines and avoid polluting
In 2024, over 3.65 lakh pilgrims participated in the yatra. Authorities are expecting a higher turnout this year and are urging devotees to plan early and adhere to safety norms.
