In a robust display of readiness, the 5th Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (5 BN NDRF) carried out a comprehensive monsoon and disaster preparedness exercise across multiple locations in Maharashtra. The large-scale drill, involving 12 specialized teams, focused on enhancing emergency response capabilities ahead of the upcoming monsoon season.
Mock drills were conducted in key locations such as Mumbai (Badlapur), Nagpur (Kondhali Dam), Palghar (Boisar), and multiple sites in Pune including Bhushi Dam, Pawna Lake, Askhed Dam, Ranjangaon MIDC, Kolawade Village, Lonavala Tiger Point, and Andra Dam.

The exercise tested the teams on flood water rescue operations, landslide and earthquake response, and management of chemical emergencies. Each scenario was designed to simulate real-life disaster situations, evaluating the operational efficiency and quick-response mechanisms of the participating units.
Through this initiative, 5 BN NDRF reiterated its dedication to public safety and its unwavering preparedness to handle any crisis, ensuring the protection of citizens across the state.
