Anand Mahindra, Chairman of the Mahindra Group, has once again impressed social media with his constructive response to criticism. Addressing a tweet that criticized Mahindra’s vehicle designs, service quality, and customer experience, his reply highlighted humility and leadership.

The user had expressed dissatisfaction with Mahindra’s aesthetics, spare parts availability, and employee behavior. While the criticism was scathing, Mahindra turned it into an opportunity to reflect on the company’s journey. He recounted how global consultants in the 1990s doubted Mahindra’s ability to compete against foreign automakers. Today, the company is a global automotive player.

Mahindra assured continuous improvement, stating, “We have miles to go before we sleep. Criticism fuels our hunger to succeed.”

This interaction coincides with Mahindra’s recent EV push. The company unveiled two electric SUVs—the BE 6e and XEV 9e—priced at ₹18.9 lakh and ₹21.9 lakh, respectively. These models boast ranges of 682 km and 656 km. Deliveries will begin in early 2025, with a phased rollout from January.

The critic later appreciated Mahindra’s response, calling it “sweet.” Social media reactions were mixed. Many praised Mahindra SUVs’ safety and performance in extreme terrains like the Himalayas. Some suggested reviving the iconic WWII Jeep as an EV, while others reiterated concerns over customer service.

Mahindra’s approach underscores his leadership, proving that even harsh feedback can drive innovation and customer trust.
