Ankita Lokhande and Vicky Jain’s Family Faces GST Scrutiny; Rs 27.5 Crore Deposited After Multi-Location Raids in Bilaspur
Bollywood actress Ankita Lokhande and her husband, businessman Vicky Jain, have recently found themselves at the center of a tax-related investigation. The Chhattisgarh State GST department conducted extensive searches linked to a coal business associated with the Jain family in Bilaspur, resulting in the surrender of Rs 27.5 crore in taxes.
According to officials, the raids were carried out under the directions of State GST Secretary Mukesh Bansal. Enforcement teams from Raipur conducted simultaneous searches across 11 locations connected to three major coal trading groups: Mahavir Coal Washery, Feel Coal, and Paras Coal & Beneficiation. The operations, which began early on December 12, extended late into the night and covered offices, residential properties, industrial plants, and washeries.
During the investigations, preliminary findings suggested possible manipulation of input tax credits. In the course of the raids, the family surrendered approximately Rs 10 crore on the first day. The following day, an additional Rs 11 crore was deposited, and another Rs 6.5 crore was surrendered by one of the washeries, bringing the total to Rs 27.5 crore.
This tax scrutiny comes just a day after Ankita and Vicky celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary. Earlier that day, Ankita shared a heartfelt message about their journey together, reflecting on love, trust, patience, and companionship, making it a bittersweet occasion for the couple.
While the GST department continues its investigation, this development has drawn significant attention not only because of the sizeable tax surrender but also due to Ankita’s celebrity status.
