Ankush Shinde new Police commissioner for Pimpri Chinchwad

The state government of Maharashtra announced transfers of many senior Indian Police Services officers on Wednesday April 20, 2022.

Ankush Shinde (IPS) has now been appointed as Commissioner, Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate while Krishna Prakash, the current Police Commissioner has now been transferred to Special Inspector General (VIP) security, Mumbai.

Dr Ravindra Shisave, joint commissioner, Pune Police Commissionerate has now been transferred to Special Inspector General, State Human Rights, Mumbai. Sandeep Karnik has now been transferred to Pune as Joint Commissioner of Police, Pune city.

The newly appointed Police Commissioner of Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate has served as Special Inspector General of Police and IP Security, Mumbai. Ankush Shinde has worked across the state of Maharashtra with a career spanning over 30 years. He has been instrumental in steering the fight against left-wing extremists in tribal areas of Maharashtra, gaining historic success for the benefit of the tribals. He has been successful in creating an impact with his work in communally sensitive places and has formidably handled many law and order issues in areas like Bhiwandi, Malegaon, and Nashik. He has been the recipient of the President’s police medal, along with many accolades including the Internal security and hard duty medals.
