Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar issued a strong warning against communal conflicts while hosting an iftar party at Marine Lines, Mumbai. His statement comes amid ongoing debates over the removal of Aurangzeb’s tomb.

“Anyone who tries to intimidate our Muslim brothers and sisters, incite communal tensions, or take the law into their own hands will not be spared,” Pawar asserted, emphasizing the need for social harmony.

During the event, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP-Ajit Pawar) leader highlighted India’s rich cultural diversity. “India stands for unity in diversity. We must not fall prey to divisive forces,” he said, urging people to celebrate all festivals together. He referenced recent and upcoming occasions like Holi, Gudi Padwa, and Eid as symbols of coexistence.

Pawar also spoke about the spiritual essence of Ramadan, describing it as a time of self-discipline, sacrifice, and compassion. He noted that fasting during the holy month fosters empathy for the underprivileged, reinforcing values that transcend religious boundaries.

His remarks come at a time when Maharashtra is witnessing political tensions following demands by the Mahayuti government to remove Aurangzeb’s grave from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The issue has sparked heated debates, adding to the state’s communal and political discourse.
