Pune City Police have taken legal action against an individual accused of assaulting a hotel proprietor and security personnel at a Koregaon Park establishment. The incident occurred at Waters Hotel Bar and Kitchen on Mundhwa-Koregaon Park road last Saturday. The complainant, responsible for arranging a Qawwali program, was requested by the hotel owner to halt the event as it was surpassing the permitted timeframe of 1 am.

Tensions escalated when the accused and his companions, who were enjoying the Qawwali, objected to the interruption and engaged in a heated argument with the owner. Matters took a severe turn when the accused allegedly physically attacked the hotel owner and intervening bouncers. Disturbingly, the accused also purportedly subjected other patrons at the hotel to verbal abuse and physical assault.

A case has been registered at Mundhwa Police Station against seven unidentified individuals under sections 324, 323, 427, 504, 506, 143, 147, and 147 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), following a formal complaint lodged by the event manager. The authorities are actively conducting further investigations into the incident.
