PUNE: The impact of the incident in Jalna, where protestors protesting for the Maratha reservation were lathi-charged by the police has been widespread. The Maratha community has become more aggressive in response to this incident. As a result, a bandh has been declared for tomorrow (September 04) in the Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad) district, affecting both the city and rural areas.

Following the Jalna incident, a meeting was held on Saturday by the Sakal Maratha Samaj and the Maratha Kranti Morcha, where the decision was taken regarding Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad) Bandh. The repercussions of the Jalna incident have also spread to Aurangabad district. Protests took place in various locations within the district on Friday, with road blockades and the burning of tyres on the main road as acts of resistance against the incident in Jalna.

Additionally, a meeting was held by the Sakal Maratha Samaj on Saturday to discuss the upcoming protest. According to reports, the bandh has been confirmed for Monday, in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad) district. A total of 57 rallies were conducted across the state to demand Maratha reservation, attracting significant attention due to the massive participation.

Notably, the initial march in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad) city, under the slogan “Ek Maratha Lakh Maratha,” was attended by a large number of Maratha community members. Aurangabad district has played a crucial role in the fight for the Maratha reservation, which is why the decision has been made to close the district tomorrow in solidarity with the incident in Jalna.

In response to the Jalna incident, the police in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad) city and rural areas are already on high alert. Additionally, a substantial police force has been stationed at the Jalna-Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad) border. With the impending bandh in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad) district, the police are reportedly planning extensive security measures to ensure public safety. Precautions will be taken to prevent any untoward incidents, including the deployment of police personnel at key locations and continuous patrolling throughout the area.
