In a bizarre incident, the laptop of Axis Bank’s senior vice-president, Amit Chhib, was allegedly stolen mid-air during an Air India flight from Nagpur on January 24.

The 47-year-old banker, residing in Ghatkopar West, filed a complaint of theft against an unidentified person. Chhib had flown to Nagpur for office work with his HP laptop in a blue bag, which also contained his office identity card and other essentials.

The bag was placed in the overhead bin during the flight, but upon landing at Mumbai airport, Chhib discovered it missing.

Despite reporting the incident to Air India via email, he received no response, prompting him to file a case for theft under section 379 of the Indian Penal Code at Sahar police station.
