Several passengers travelling with SpiceJet flight from Delhi to Bagdogra Airport in West Bengal were left in dismay on Wednesday when they discovered their luggage hadn’t arrived with them. The airline assured that the offloaded baggage would catch up with subsequent flights but expressed regret for the inconvenience caused.

The issue gained attention when Rajesh Kumar, a passenger, took to social media to share his ordeal. “Today the flight SG8841 from Delhi to Bagdogra lost and misplaced our luggage and the staff had no response! They still do not have any resolutions,” lamented Kumar, a resident of Noida.

The flight, SG8841, departed from Terminal 3 of the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi at 12:30 pm for its 2.30-hour journey to Bagdogra.

SpiceJet’s flight SG 8841 from Delhi to Bagdogra faced payload restrictions on April 17, leading to offloading of some baggage due to operational reasons. The airline emphasized that the offloaded baggage would be transported via subsequent flights.

“In the interest of safe flight operations, cargo and baggage are offloaded when payload restrictions are faced,” explained an airline spokesperson. SpiceJet conveyed its profound regret for the inconvenience caused to the affected passengers.

Airlines face challenges ensuring smooth operations and passenger satisfaction, especially when they have to adjust cargo and baggage handling procedures due to operational constraints.
