Actor Shoaib Ibrahim was approached by the Bigg Boss team to participate in Bigg Boss 18. However, he refused the offer. But he hasn’t completely dismissed the idea of joining the show in the future.
The actor is very clear about why he didn’t want to participate in the show. He believes that the reality show has shifted its focus more towards generating content than showcasing genuine personalities.
Bigg Boss 18, officially titled Bigg Boss: Time Ka Tandav, marks the eighteenth season of the popular Indian Hindi-language reality series Bigg Boss. The season debuted on October 6, 2024, airing on Colors TV and JioCinema.
The actor discussed his choice to decline entering the house during a Q&A session on his Instagram account. A follower inquired about his reasons for rejecting the opportunity to participate in Bigg Boss 18 this year.
“Earlier, it used to be a show focused on personality. Now, the more content you provide, the more visibility you get, and that’s how one progresses in the game. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m not convinced yet to join. Maybe someday, if I feel differently, I might consider it, but for now, this is my reason. It feels like some contestants are heavily favoured or humiliated. There’s always something going on, but it no longer showcases personalities. It’s more content-based. Maybe I’m wrong,” he says.
He gained popularity through the successful TV series Sasural Simar Ka, where he first crossed paths with his current wife, Dipika. Following that, he appeared in various shows including Koi Laut Ke Aaya Hai, Jeet Gayi Toh Piya Morey, and Ishq Mein Marjawan, among others.
Dipika took part in the 12th season of the show and ultimately emerged as the champion, winning the trophy that year.
