Residents in Baner Balewadi demand adequate water supply ; threaten to hold agitation
Protesting that Baner, Pashan, Sus Mhalunge areas are not getting enough water due to lack of administrative planning, a group of residents called for a protest.
A protest, led by corporator Amol Balwadkar, was held at Chandni Chowk to bring the issue of water scarcity to the foreground. The places of Baner, Pashan and Sus – Mhalunge face improper water supply and citizens are dependent on water tankers for their daily water consumption.
Despite innumerable complaints raised to the Municipal Corporation, there has been no action. During the agitation, slogans were also raised against the Municipal Corporation. Protesting that Baner, Pashan, Susmahalunge areas are not getting enough water due to lack of administrative planning, a group called for a protest.
Talking about the same, corporator Amol Balwadkar said, “Due to the mismanagement of the municipality, we are not getting enough water. We are told the account has been handed over to a wrong officer. We plan to continue protesting unless the supply is rectified. Due to the negligence of the Municipal Corporation, water supply is improper in some areas, the official-in-charge does not have enough information, causing inconvenience to the citizens.”
