September 2025 Bank Holiday Alert: Bank customers across India should plan transactions in advance as multiple holidays are scheduled throughout the month. As per the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) calendar, banks in different states will remain closed on several occasions, including major festivals and regular weekly offs.

Key Bank Closures in September 2025

  1. Eid-e-Milad/Milad-un-Nabi – September 5, 2025
    Banks will be closed in Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chennai, Dehradun, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jammu, Kanpur, Kochi, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Ranchi, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram, and Vijayawada.

  1. Navratra Sthapna – September 22, 2025
    Banks in Jaipur will remain closed to mark the beginning of Navratri celebrations.
  2. Three-Day Stretches of Holidays
    • September 21 to September 23, 2025
    • September 28 to September 30, 2025

    • September 7, 14, 21, 28 (Sundays)
    • Second and Fourth Saturdays

Total Bank Closures

Banks will remain shut for approximately 15 days in September 2025, including weekends, festival holidays, and other regional observances.

Online Services Remain Active

Despite branch closures, ATM, UPI, internet banking, and mobile banking services will operate as usual, except during rare instances of scheduled maintenance.
