A recent job offer from Google, boasting a package of ₹65 LPA, has gone viral after being shared by Bengaluru engineer Kartik Jolapara. The post caught the attention of many tech professionals when Jolapara, a developer at JP Morgan, stumbled upon the profile of an individual with a decade of experience who disclosed their job offer anonymously. Intrigued by the details, Jolapara took a screenshot and shared it online with the caption, “crazy offers.”
However, the reaction from the tech community was far from enthusiastic. Many users, who likely earn similar or higher salaries, expressed indifference towards the offer, especially noting that the candidate hailed from a tier-3 college.
“What 10 years of experience can get you? Crazy offers,” Jolapara remarked in his post on X (formerly known as Twitter).
In response to the virality of the screenshot, one user questioned, “Am I the only one who’s not thrilled looking at these numbers? I mean aren’t they common in tech? Am I missing something?”
Jolapara replied, stating, “The jump is what seemed crazy. At least for me.”
This led to further discussions, with one individual clarifying, “If you haven’t added it all up, the Google offer is ₹1.64 crore for the first year. Not crazy for 10 years, but still pretty good.”
Another commenter added, “To be very honest. Not impressed with the numbers. I’ve seen better by the same company. But I’m happy for him. 10 years experience and L5 requires a lot of expertise.”
