BJP city president accuses Wadgaon Sheri MLA Sunil Tingre for his symbolic hunger strike
Pune: Jagdish Mulik, the BJP Pune City President, has accused Sunil Tingre, the MLA of Wadgaon Sheri Constituency, for staging a symbolic hunger strike as a means to hide his alleged inaction and inefficiency in addressing the development needs of the area.
Mulik claimed that various development projects, including Pune Metro, Bhama Askhed Water Project, road construction, flyover constructions, expansion of Pune Airport, and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, have been initiated and completed by BJP in Wadgaon Sheri Assembly Constituency.
Mulik further alleged that Tingre, who has been in power for the past three years under the Mahavikas Aghadi government, has failed to secure funds for major projects in Wadgaon Sheri from the state government. Instead, he has been trying to take credit for the projects initiated by BJP to hide his alleged failures. Mulik claimed that Tingre’s hunger strike was nothing but a political stunt to deceive the public ahead of the upcoming elections.
Speaking about the progress of various projects, Mulik stated that Pune Metro work is 60 percent complete, Bhama Askhed Water Project has largely resolved the water supply issue, and the road construction works are underway on a public-private partnership basis in various parts of Wadgaon Sheri.
He also mentioned the construction of a flyover at Golf Chowk to ease traffic congestion, the momentum gained in the construction of a flyover from Kharadi to Shirur through Union Minister Nitin Gadkari’s efforts, and the expansion of Pune Airport and parking facilities.
Mulik further claimed that the government-run hospital at Lohegaon, proposed during his tenure as MLA, is in its final stages of completion. He also highlighted that 90 percent of the work under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Kharadi has been completed.
Mulik accused Tingre of having zero contribution to the development of Wadagaon Sheri in recent years and resorting to political gimmicks to cover up his alleged failures. Mulik emphasized that the public will have the opportunity to provide the right answer in the upcoming elections.
