BJP Will Secure Mayor's Post in Upcoming Pune Civic Polls, Says Newly Appointed City President Dheeraj Ghate

Pune, May 13: Following his reappointment as Pune city president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Dheeraj Ghate expressed confidence that the party will secure the mayoral position in the upcoming Pune Municipal Corporation elections.
Citing the party’s strong performance in recent Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, where BJP won six Assembly seats and enrolled 5.5 lakh members in Pune, Ghate affirmed that the next Mayor of Pune will be from BJP.
Speaking to the media after his selection, Ghate stated, “The party has once again shown trust in me by giving this opportunity. I am committed to upholding this confidence and will strive to take the party’s vision and policies to the people.”
On Monday, the BJP appointed 58 district presidents across the state, with Ghate being given another term to lead Pune city. He expressed gratitude towards senior leaders, including Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, BJP State President Chandrashekhar Bawankule, State Working President Ravindra Chavan, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol, Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, and Rajya Sabha MP Medha Kulkarni, for their continued support.

Ghate’s statement comes at a crucial time as political parties gear up for the civic elections, with the BJP aiming to retain and expand its influence in Pune’s municipal governance.
