Bogus schools in Pune : Education dept declares six schools as unauthorised

Pune, 25 April 2023 : Maharashtra State School Education Department has declared a few institutions unauthorized, as they failed to complete the documentation work. The news of cancellation of the authorisation of the institutions has made the parents worried as they have to now search for other
The local police authorities have filed criminal cases against these schools and have also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh each.

Six schools located in the Mulshi taluka jurisdiction namely. G G International School at Bavdhan Budruk, Sanskar Primary School at Pirangut, Elite International School, Periwinkle English Medium School, Sai Balaji Public School at Nere Dattawadi, and one more from Bavdhan are among those who have been labelled unauthorised by the education department.

In order to operate the schools must possess documents of the approval of the Central or state government and obtain a no-objection certificate (NOC) from various boards, including SSC, CBSE, ICSE, among others. Since these schools lacked the necessary documents, the education dept announced them as unauthorised and action has been initiated amongst these schools accordingly. Hefty fines have been imposed and failing to pay the fine in seven days, the schools may have to Rs 10,000 per day after this period.
