From taking loans for interview clothes to studying via YouTube, Rahul Kumar’s inspiring journey to BPSC success proves that determination can defeat adversity.

Rahul Kumar, a resident of Karma Bhagwan village in Aurangabad, Bihar, has defied all odds to secure the 67th rank in the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) exam. Despite facing severe financial challenges, Rahul never gave up on his dream of becoming an officer, making it to the top 100 in his fourth attempt.

Rahul’s father, Ravindra Thakur, used to run a small salon, but the COVID-19 lockdown forced him to work in someone else’s shop due to lack of capital. Despite these hardships, Ravindra continued to motivate his son to pursue higher education, dreaming of seeing him in a prestigious position.

Rahul, who completed his education from a government school and graduated in Geography, did not have the financial means to afford expensive coaching classes. Instead, he relied on YouTube videos and self-study to prepare for the BPSC exam. His journey was marked by determination, even when he failed in his first three attempts.

One of the most striking moments in Rahul’s story came when he needed proper attire for his BPSC interview but couldn’t afford it. He borrowed money from a villager, Madhusudan Thakur, to get a coat and pants stitched. With confidence and preparation, Rahul aced the interview and secured his position in the top 100.

Rahul’s success highlights how perseverance, resourcefulness, and dedication can help anyone overcome adversity and achieve their goals.
