BRTS of ‘these’ areas on Pune Nagar Road open only for vehicles going for Jaystambha salutation

Citizens of Maharashtra and outside Maharashtra, various organizations, etc come to Perne every year for Jaystambha salutation. Pune Nagar Road is the main road that the followers use for going to Jayastambha from Pune, Mumbai, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur etc.

As per information from Pune Traffic Police, therefore, there is a possibility of heavy traffic congestion on both lanes on Pune Nagar Road. So, traffic, in the BRTS lanes between Viman Nagar Chowk and Kharadi Juna Jakat Naka on Pune Nagar Road, will be allowed only for the vehicles of the followers going for Jaystambha salutation to avoid traffic congestion on Pune Nagar Road.

If both BRTS lanes on the route are opened for the vehicles of people going from and to the Jayastambha, the traffic congestion will be avoided by creating more space for a smooth traffic flow of vehicles.

As per the instructions of the Commissioner of Police, Pune City, considering the urgency of the followers and to avoid traffic congestion, he had a meeting with PMPML. 

The Managing Director of PMPML has allowed to use both the BRTS lanes on the said route for vehicles going from & to the Jaystambha.

Hence, on 31/12/2023 & 1/1/2024, both BRTS lanes between Viman Nagar Chowk to Kharadi Juna Zakat Naka will remain open only for the vehicles of followers going for Jayastambha salutation.
