In a tragic incident in Maharashtra’s Amravati district, a state transport bus belonging to the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) veered off the road and fell into a gorge, resulting in the loss of two lives and injuring at least 20 others. The accident occurred in the Melghat area around noon, as confirmed by Amravati’s Superintendent of Police, Vishal Anand.

The bus, carrying approximately 36 passengers from Parathwada in Yavatmal district to Dharni in Amravati, encountered the mishap when the driver lost control of the vehicle’s wheels. Plunging into a gorge in the Jawahar Kund area of Melghat, the bus collided with a tree, leading to fatalities and injuries.While two individuals lost their lives in the unfortunate incident, five others sustained severe injuries, with an additional 15 passengers suffering minor injuries.

The injured victims were promptly transported to hospitals in Amravati and Parathwada for medical attention and treatment.Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, emphasizing the importance of road safety measures and driver vigilance to prevent such tragic occurrences in the future.”
