Pune: It is often said that patriotism in many citizens of the country lasts only for a day when they celebrate Independence Day or Republic Day. The national flags that people fly with pride on these two days are often seen abandoned on the street on the next day. Kirtane & Pandit LLP, a CA firm from Pune launched a campaign ‘Mera Tiranga Mera Abhimaan’ (My Tricolour My Pride) on Tuesday to collect the national flags that were abandoned on streets in the city.

Members of Kirtane & Pandit LLP, a CA Firm ran this campaign in the city and the volunteers collected flags abandoned on Karve Road, Paud Road, Ferguson Road, Deccan Gymkhana along with many other places in the city.

Around 100 volunteers participated in the initiative. The collected flags will be handed over to the  Bharat Flag foundation with respect. CA Ruta Chitale, RCM of ICAI, Mausami Shah, President of WICASA, CA Shashank Patki, KP’s partner Shripad Kulkarni, Pralhad Mandhana, Tanmay Bodhe & Anand Jog were present.

“We initiated this initiative because many people hoisted the national flag to celebrate Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsava but it is often seen that these flags are often seen abandoned on the street and later thrown with the waste. These flags will be handed over to Bharat Flag Foundation with respect”
