CAPF Jawans Deployed in Kasba Constituency for by-poll

Pune: In view of the upcoming Kasba Assembly by-elections in Pune, a contingent of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) has been deployed to maintain law and order in the area. The election is set to take place on February 26, and the Pune Police is taking all necessary measures to ensure a safe and secure environment for voters.

As a part of this effort, over 500 police officers and personnel from Pune city carried out a route march on Monday night within the jurisdictions of the Vishrambaug, Khadak, Faraskhana, and Samarth police stations. The march was conducted to keep a tab on anti-social elements and maintain law and order within the constituency.

Speaking on the matter, DCP (Zone I) Sandeep Singh Gill, said, “Five units of CAPF have arrived in Kasba Constituency. This will provide security in the area till the election and counting date. We have made a total of three check posts. Suspicious vehicles coming through this will be checked. There will be a naka bandi in the area. We are trying to ensure that there is no breakdown of law and order.”

In addition to the route march, check posts have been placed at the Shaniwar Wada gate to check four-wheeler vehicles. The security checks will be conducted by paramilitary forces who will conduct marches, foot patrolling, naka bandhis, and flying squads to keep a close watch on everything.

The Kasba assembly elections are in full swing with candidates carrying out hectic campaigning, rallies, and voter meetings. The Pune Police is ready to prevent any untoward incidents during the election and will work tirelessly to ensure a peaceful and fair election process for all.
