Car Rally Of Joint Services Wing Flagged off From Clement Town, Dehradun To NDA, Khadakwasla

In the series of commemorative events celebrating the 75 glorious years of forging Military leaders, the National Defence Academy undertook a car rally from erstwhile Joint Services Wing at Clement Town, Dehradun to the present day National Defence Academy at Khadakwasla, Pune. 

The event served as a poignant tribute to ‘Operational Badli’ as part of which the premier tri services institution was shifted to it’s present location at Khadakwasla.

The car rally commenced on 23 December when it was flagged of at Raj Bhavan, Dehradun by the Hon’ble Governor of Uttarakhand Lt Gen Gurmit Singh, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, VSM(Retd), an alumnus of the 50th Course of the National Defence Academy. In its Second leg the rally was flagged off by Lt Gen JP Mathew, UYSM, AVSM, SM, Chief of Integrated Defence Staff from Delhi on 24 Dec. 

A total of 13 Officers and four veterans took part in the 1800km long rally traversing through Delhi, Gwalior, Nashik and Mumbai before successfully culminating in the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla. The rally was flagged in at the National Defence Academy on 28 Dec 23 in front of the historic Sudan Block.

This Car Rally not only marks the historic shifting of the National Defence Academy from Clement Town to Khadakwasla,  but also serves as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices and dedication of the NDA alumni and their contribution to nation-building, through this retracing of history. The sponsorship of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd in the form of vehicles and support along the route contributed to the success of the event.
