The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has granted a U/A certificate to the forthcoming film Ulajh, featuring Janhvi Kapoor in the lead, following several mandated edits.
The CBFC asked for the muting of explicit language and blurring of an inappropriate hand gesture in various scenes throughout the movie.
To begin, the word ‘f**k’ was muted in multiple places. Similarly, the word ‘f**king b*stard’ was also muted. In the same scene, a vulgar hand gesture was asked to be blurred. Moreover, the word ‘c*****a’ was asked to be muted wherever uttered in the film. Notably, no visual cuts were demanded by the CBFC., as per Bollywood Hungama.
Once these cuts were enforced, the makers of Ulajh were handed over the censor certificate on July 15.
As mentioned on the censor certificate, the length of the film is 134 minutes long, which comes to 2 hours and 14 minutes. The movie is all set to release on the silver screen on August 2.
The movie features a star-studded cast including Gulshan Devaiah, Roshan Mathew, Meiyang Chang, Rajesh Tailang, Adil Hussain, and Jitendra Joshi alongside Kapoor. It is backed by Junglee Pictures and is directed by Sudhanshu Saria.
The film was officially announced in May 2023. As per the first statement released by the producers, the movie is about a young IFS officer from a family of patriots who becomes entangled in a dangerous personal conspiracy while away from home.
