CBSE Mandates Schools To Upload Staff Details On Websites, Issues Final WarningÂ
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a revision in the syllabus and textbooks exclusively for Classes III and VI for the academic year 2024-25. In a circular issued by the board, it was clarified that no changes have been made to the syllabus or textbooks for any other classes, thereby clearing the confusion among affiliated schools regarding potential syllabus changes.
According to the circular, all affiliated schools are to continue using the old syllabus and textbooks for all classes except III and VI. The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has informed CBSE that new syllabi and textbooks are being developed for these two classes.
The new textbooks for Class VI are expected to be available by the end of July. Schools have been instructed to adopt the new syllabus once the textbooks are issued. This update aligns with the Central Board of Secondary Education’s adoption of the ‘National Curriculum Framework – School Education 2023’. Schools are required to implement the recommendations outlined in this framework.
For classes IX to XII, the CBSE has already announced the annual syllabus, which includes learning outcomes, pedagogical practices, and assessment guidelines. The board emphasized the importance of teaching according to these practices.
Currently, NCERT is in the process of developing the new syllabus and textbooks for Classes III and VI. On March 18, 2024, NCERT informed CBSE that this process would be completed soon. Additionally, NCERT has developed a Bridge Course for Class VI and Brief Guidelines for Class III in line with the new education system and the National Curriculum Framework.
This move marks a significant step towards enhancing the quality of education and ensuring that students receive updated and relevant learning materials.
