Central Team Conducts Inspection of ‘Catch the Rain’ Campaign under Jal Shakti Abhiyan
Pune : An inspection was carried out Under the ‘Catch the rain’ campaign in Pune district by the central team.
Various departments in the Pune district have implemented measures to conserve rainwater by rainwater harvesting and increasing the groundwater levels under the Jal Shakti Abhiyaan. In this regard, Piyush Singh, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Power and Anu Venkatiraman, Central Groundwater Board, Kerala region carried out an inspection in the district.
Inspection of other works like the groundwater recharge work at Saswad Municipal Council in Purandar taluka, the water supply well under Jaljivan Mission at Udachiwadi, the recharge shaft works under the Atal Groundwater Scheme were done. Additionally, work of Pazar Lake implemented under the Amrit Sarovar Scheme at Mauje Pisarve was also carried out.
Dr Rajesh Deshmukh, Pune District Collector, Minaj Mulla, Sub-divisional officer, Sujata Hande, Pune District Water conservation officer, and many other officials from various departments were present.
