Centre Eyes Bhusawal–Pune Vande Bharat, Faster Trips and Enhanced Connectivity by Cutting Down Travel Hours
Proposals are in place, raising hopes of a new high-speed corridor via Jalgaon.
A proposal to introduce a Vande Bharat Express service between Bhusawal and Pune has sparked fresh excitement across north Maharashtra, with passengers hoping for a faster and more comfortable rail connection to the state’s education and business hub.
Railway proposals have been submitted for new Vande Bharat routes. The move is being seen as a significant step for Bhusawal and Jalgaon, major junctions that currently do not have a dedicated Vande Bharat service despite their strategic importance.
The Indian Railways is enhancing connectivity in Maharashtra by introducing a Vande Bharat Express linking Bhusawal and Pune with potential for faster, direct travel. The Pune–Ajni (Nagpur) Vande Bharat (Train 26101/26102) is already operational, covering 881 km in roughly 10 hours, and new faster, shorter-duration services are being prioritized to cut down travel time further.
If implemented, this could dramatically reduce travel time for thousands of passengers across Vidarbha, Khandesh and western Maharashtra. With Vande Bharat, the travel duration is expected to drop sharply, offering a major boost in speed and convenience.
The proposed Bhusawal –Pune Vande Bharat is expected to stop at key stations including Jalgaon, Chalisgaon, Manmad and Daund, making it a crucial connector for multiple districts.
However, railway authorities have not yet made any official announcement regarding the timetable, ticketing or launch date of the service. For now, the proposal stage has generated curiosity and anticipation, especially among frequent travellers and local businesses who see improved rail connectivity as a growth opportunity.
If approved, the Bhusawal–Pune Vande Bharat could become a game-changer for the region’s mobility and economic integration with Pune.
