The All India Jamiatul Quresh Action Committee (AIJQAC) declared on Friday that chicken and mutton shops in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad will be closed on January 22.

AIJQAC also announced plans to distribute laddus and pedhas as part of the celebratory festivities following the ceremony.

Sadiq Qureshi, the AIJQAC chief for Western Maharashtra, conveyed in a statement, “On January 22, the Qureshi community in Pune will suspend their businesses to participate in the consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. This is a joyous occasion for the community, as Lord Ram is revered across religions.”

In a collective decision in Kunjirwadi village, Pune, residents have agreed not to consume non-vegetarian food on January 22. After a meeting led by the village’s sarpanch, local chicken, mutton, and liquor shops willingly opted to remain closed on this day, demonstrating a shared commitment to fostering a celebratory atmosphere.

As the consecration ceremony approaches, individuals from various regions and diverse religious backgrounds are converging on Ayodhya. Motivated by their faith in Lord Ram and inspired by the prevailing religious fervor in the country, they express a desire to be part of this historic day and convey a message of love and unity.
