Citizens initiative makes chronic spot near Tucker Enclave clean

In what could be a game changing move, the citizens group of Swachh Pune Swachh Bharat’s Tucker Vihar Enclave in Hadapsar team took a unique initiative to address the chronic garbage dumping site. In less than a week a proper coordination with different govt agencies resulted in a very successful event.

On November 16, not only the garbage was removed with the help of Pune Municipal Corporation’s Hadapsar ward office but also tree plantation was done with the help of the irrigation department.

Wing Commander Puneet Sharma founder Swachh Pune Swachh Bharat urged citizens to come forward in addressing such situations in their vicinity. “A humble initiative by the citizens of Pune could help get rid of these sites for good. We at Swachh Pune Swachh Bharat are willing to assist any such endeavour undertaken by the Punekars,” said Sharma.

AWO Tucker Vihar Enclave in Hadapsar citizens, Col Thorat, secretary of the management committee, Satya Natrajan, SPSB, Sunil Bankar, corporator, Vaishali Bankar, corporator, Sanjeevani Jadhav corporator, Prasad Katkar, assistant municipal commissioner, Savita Patil irrigation department, Jagtap, irrigation canal inspector, SI Amar Shere, Salve,  and team were present for the plantation drive.

Clean up team of Tucker AWHO Enclave joined hands with Swachh Pune Swacch Bharat founder Wing Cdr Puneet Sharma and his core team members who had organized a clean up campaign of the chronic garbage dumping spot at the canal bridge.
