Citizens should unite and create forests in urban areas

Anandvan Mitra Mandal (AVMM) celebrated world environment day by commencing work on a brand new forest barren land which will soon be converted into another lush green urban forest of Pune.

Anand Van Mitra Mandal members thanked the forest department of Pune to make this happen.

A pre plantation drive began today in the reserve forest land near Elina Living society on NIBM road in the presence of Ayush Prasad IAS, Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Parishad Pune, Pramod Kembhavi, Deputy Director Animal Husbandry, Kiran lndalkar, Assistant District Planning Officer, Sanjay Markale District Planning Officer Pune.

Parveen Kumar from Anandvan Mitra Mandal while speaking to Pune Pulse said, “Our aim is to create 100 Anandvan not only in the city areas but also replicate it in rural areas. For this we need citizens support and also from the administration to execute it.”

He further said, “We request citizens to be a part of the “Anandvan 2” movement and help us create an urban forest to combat climate change and a pandemic-free Pune and the world.
Another exciting journey to create Anandvan 2 started from today on the auspicious occasion of world environment day.”
