Citizens take active participation in Swachh Bharat Diwas Campaign Organised by Nana Kate and PCMC - Pune pulse
PUNE: Swachh Bharat Diwas is observed on October 2nd in commemoration of the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. This year, the nationwide ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa’ initiative is being implemented from September 15th to October 2nd.
In accordance with this, a cleanliness campaign was organized on October 1, 2023, at 10 am in collaboration with Nana Kate and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation.
The campaign took place from Shivar Chowk to Linear Garden, Pimple Saudagar, for a duration of one hour. Former Leader of Opposition Nana Kate graced the occasion with his presence.
As per the information provided, the cleanliness campaign witnessed active participation from various individuals, including former corporators, Indian Army officers, soldiers, civic employees, executive engineer Nitin Deshmukh, deputy engineer Sunil Dutt Narote, Health Officer Pranay Chavan, Junior Engineer Sambhaji Gaikwad, Chairman of Icon Society Vinod Surve, Santosh Mishra of Rajveer Palace, Vikram Mohite, Sachin Desai, Deepak Kothwade of Dwarka Suncrest Society, Satish Dongare of Shivangan Society, and Jayesh Sarode, Meena Mohite, Gaurav Shitole, Chaitanya Thorat, Vishal Kale, Machindra Kate, Bhushan Kate, municipal officials, employees, various society chairman, women from self-help groups, health officers, and municipal employees also actively participated in the campaign.
Furthermore, teachers and students from schools enthusiastically joined the cleanliness drive.
