The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Tuesday announced the final results of the Civil Services Examination 2024. A total of 1,009 candidates have cleared all stages of the exam and are recommended for appointments to prestigious roles including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and Indian Police Service (IPS).

Among the successful candidates are 725 men and 284 women, underscoring the growing presence of women in India’s top civil services. Known for its intense three-phase selection—Prelims, Mains, and Interview—the UPSC CSE maintains a daunting success rate of around 0.2%.

While success stories poured in from across the country, one stood out and captured the internet’s attention. Poorva Choudhary, who secured an All India Rank of 533, went viral after her sister Navya Saharan posted a heartfelt and humorous video on Instagram. The clip, featuring pictures of Poorva (including one outside the UPSC building), included the now-viral caption: “Cleared UPSC… while serving this face card.”

Navya’s cheeky line, “Sibling goals? One cracked the most difficult exam in our country. The other’s writing this caption!!!” added a dose of fun to the celebration. The video racked up more than 2 million views in just a few hours.

On her own Instagram, Poorva confirmed the news with an emotional note: “A little something happened today. A little flex—loaded with sabr, sealed with shukrana and lots of duas. The day was kind.” She added the hashtags #UPSC and #UPSC2024.

The 2024 Preliminary exam was held on June 16 last year, with 5.8 lakh candidates appearing out of nearly 10 lakh registered—a testament to the scale and competitiveness of the process.

Topper Shakti Dubey addressed the media after securing Rank 1, advising aspirants to stay consistent while reminding them: “Never let an exam matter more than your well-being.”
