CM Eknath Shinde Inspects Safety Measures on Mumbai-Pune Expressway Following Last Week’s Landslide Incident

In response to a recent landslide incident on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde took proactive steps to ensure the safety of travelers. While en route to accompany Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his visit to Pune, the Chief Minister halted his journey to inspect the affected area and assess the safety conditions.

The Mumbai-Pune Expressway faced a close call during the past week when a section of the highway experienced a sudden disruption due to a landslide. Prompt action by the authorities from the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) played a crucial role in preventing any potential mishaps. Timely installation of safety barriers at the site averted further dangers.

During the inspection, Chief Minister Shinde received a detailed briefing about the safety measures implemented in the work zone near the affected spot. Acknowledging the importance of proactive safety measures, he directed the concerned authorities to take necessary precautions and secure the hazardous portion of the road with safety barriers to prevent any untoward incidents in the future.
