Pune: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has instructed Maharail to submit a proposal for the Pune-Nashik semi-high-speed rail project.

This project holds significant importance for the districts of Pune, Nagar, and Nashik. Following Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s efforts to expedite the project last week, it is now evident that the train on this route will operate at a faster speed, as the approval has been given.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has established a ‘war room’ to oversee crucial projects in the state. Through this war room, he reviewed several projects in the state on Tuesday, including the Pune, Mumbai, Nagpur Metro, and Pune-Nashik high-speed trains. Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar were present at the meeting.

On Tuesday, in the presence of the two Deputy Chief Ministers, the Chief Minister once again reviewed the Pune-Nashik semi-high-speed railway as well as the Metro projects at various locations across the state, using the ‘war room’ setup.

While evaluating the Pune-Nashik semi-high-speed rail project, the Chief Minister has instructed Maharail to present a proposal to the Cabinet.

As per the information provided, it is believed that the state government has now given the green signal to the Pune-Nashik Railway line. Due to the delay in the project, Maharail is expected to present the proposal for the railway line at the upcoming cabinet meeting.
