Concluding ceremony of Wakad Premier League held
The fifth edition of the Wakad Premier League’s trophy distribution ceremony was held with great enthusiasm.
The much talked about cricket finals organized by Vinayak Gaikwad Youth Foundation for the society members in Wakad area was held. The trophy distribution ceremony was done at the hands of Corporator Shankar Jagtap and Former Corporator Vinayak Gaikwad.
For the last four years, Wakad Premier League where cricket matches have been organized on behalf of Vinayak Gaikwad Youth Foundation for the society members in Wakad area especially for the IT professionals. The fifth year of the league saw huge participation of the youths and IT professionals residing in the area. The festival started with 57 teams in 2017 and this year, and totally 153 teams participated in this league. There were 126 men’s teams, 24 women’s teams and 3 senior citizens’ teams. This year residents saw a large number of participation of women and senior citizens too.
The RCC Cricket Club of the Royal Court Society became the first honorary member of the men’s team of the fifth Premier League. Similarly, ‘Dynasty Dare Dreamers’ from dynasty society became first winners in the women’s team and ‘Venunagar Senior Citizens Team’ became the first winner among the senior citizens’ teams.
In the men’s team, the second prize was won by Kalpataru Splendor Society team and the third prize was won by Venunagar team. Among the women’s teams, the second prize went to the Swiss County Society team and the third prize went to the Malpani Greens Society team.
