Leeds, England – The unusual fish belongs to 48-year-old Malcolm Pawson, who bought it three years ago for ₹16,000 and introduced it to his backyard pond along with 11 other koi. While koi are known for their color and pattern variations, Bob’s transformation left Malcolm and his family astonished. Over time, distinct markings appeared on the fish’s head, forming what looks like a face — complete with eyes, a nose, and a mouth.
“When we first got Bob, he was just like any other koi,” said Malcolm. “But as the months passed, these markings developed, and it’s honestly unbelievable to look at.”
Bob’s rare appearance has turned the Pawsons’ home into a mini attraction. Neighbors, friends, and even curious visitors now stop by hoping to see the “human-faced” koi. While the family hasn’t sought attention, they don’t mind sharing Bob’s fascinating story with those who visit.
According to Malcolm, Bob’s playful nature adds to his charm. “He comes up to the pond’s edge as if asking for food — it’s hard not to feel like he’s communicating,” he said.
