After ordering a burger via Zomato, a man finds mold on the bread, prompting swift responses from both Burger King and Zomato.

In an unsettling incident, a customer hoping to enjoy a meal from Burger King was met with an unpleasant surprise—a mold-covered burger bun. Yaman Dev Sharma, the customer, shared his experience on social media platform X, detailing how he had ordered a Veg Whopper via Zomato and was horrified to discover mold on the burger bun after finishing his fries.

“Ordered from Burger King via Zomato. After finishing the fries, I opened the burger (Veg Whopper), and today I came to know that they have launched a new flavor—where the mold comes free with the burger bread,” Sharma wrote, attaching pictures of the spoiled burger.

An individual wrote, “File a complaint against the store through the FSSAI website or app. I’ve seen that they take action, so at least do your bit. We all must contribute to making restaurants adhere to food quality and safety standards. If you don’t file a complaint, I’m sure the store will repeat this.”

The post quickly gained attention, prompting responses from both Zomato and Burger King. Zomato, expressing shock at the incident, responded: “This is very shocking. We are sorry you had to go through this. We will investigate it. A member of our team will definitely call you. Please DM us your registered contact number.”

Later, Zomato followed up with a message confirming that they had resolved the issue via email. “Hello Yaman, we have resolved your issue via email. We are sorry that your experience with us was not completely smooth. Rest assured, we are committed to improving our service. If you require any further assistance, please let us know,” they wrote.

Burger King also reached out, asking for Sharma’s order details and specifics. They assured him that a thorough investigation would take place to prevent such incidents in the future.
