Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati celebrations to be held virtually

We all look forward to celebration of Ganeshotsav every year and this year the festival begins on September 10, 2021.

Covid19 pandemic has brought a lot of restrictions on our celebrations. And as per the guidelines issued by the state government as well as Pune Municipal Corporation, like last year this year too celebrations of Ganesh utsav at the Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Mandir Trust shall be a low key affair.

The installation of the idol shall happen within the premises of the temple and for the first time, the Trust is opting for Augmented Reality technique which will enable the social media users to perform aarti, seek blessings in just one click.

In the 129 years of golden history of the celebrations, for second year in a row the celebrations will give a miss to its real venue, Kotwal Chawadi.

Ashok Godse, chairman of the Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Mandir Trust said, “This year we are celebrating Ganeshotsav online by using Augmented Reality technique which will enable a user to perform aarti while he is sitting at his home.”

The information was shared to mediapersons recently in a press conference held which was attended by Pune Municipal Corporation Mayor Murlidhar Mohol, Joint commissioner Dr Ravindra Shisavr, Trust’s Mahesh Suryavanshi, Sunil Rasne, Dr Ramchandra Paranjape, Prakash Chavan and Manik Chavan. The trust shall continue its services.

Everyday a new one would be worn by the idol 60 CCTV surveillance system to keep an eye to ensure security of the temple On September 11, 6 am

Atharvasheersha recitation will be held in the temple and Maha Aarti will be held which can be seen live.

Everyday Mahaganesh Yaag between 8 am to 12 noon will be held by Vedmurti Milind Rahurkar Guruji and 1 pm to 6 pm

Lakshavarta , Home Havan by Vedmurti Natraj Shastri, while bramha vrunda and bramhan spati sukta parijat by Dhananjay Ghate will be held.

Everyday Aarti will be telecasted online at 7.30 am and 9 pm

Murlidhar Mohol, Mayor Pune Municipal Corporation said, “Let us all celebrate Ganeshotsav by observing the health protocols and maintain social distancing. Everyone can seek blessings by sitting at home and also view the celebrations online.”
