Over 1000 women entrepreneurs from 26 countries are vying for the coveted TiE Women’s Global Pitch Competition this year. In Pune, 58 companies started by women joined the race and TiE Pune selected its winner Dr. Anuya Nisal of Serigen Mediproducts P Ltd.

The winner receives $100,000 equity free prize money. Apart from that, mentoring by global leaders and networking with the world.

Last year, Pune’s Ahammune Biosciences won the first runner-up award ($25,000/- with mentoring and networking) and this year, TiE Pune looks forward to winning big.

“Simply because Dr. Nisal’s innovation is big,” says Zelam Chaubal, who heads the TiE Pune Women’s Initiative. She further says, “Accidents and diseases like cancer or infection can cause problems in the bone. Currently, doctors often use global products, but Dr. Nisal has developed Serioss, which is far superior to the current ones. Serioss shows promise, as it helps build better bone when used. Also, it does not get secondary fractures post-surgery”.

TiE Pune also selected three runners-up, who have worked on different products that will benefit society. They are:

Repos Energy – Aditi Bhosale Walunj aims to redesign the energy delivery system in the country. They provide large consumers of diesel with doorstep delivery.
