Daytime Burglary Gang Busted In Pune District By Rural Police, 17 Crimes Exposed
A gang of thieves responsible for a string of daytime burglaries in Pune district has been arrested by the crime branch of the rural police and the Narayangaon police. The accused, Ganesh Govardhan Kale (24) and Milind Ishwar Bhosle (25), were caught after a meticulous investigation.
The police recovered valuables worth Rs 15 lakh, including 19 tola gold jewelry, a two-wheeler, and mobile sets, from the thieves. Superintendent of Police Pankaj Deshmukh revealed during a press conference that the accused confessed to committing burglaries with the aid of a minor accomplice.
Milind Bhosle has a history of crime, with 16 cases of burglary and forced theft registered against him in rural areas of Nagar, Beed, and Pune. Notably, he was involved in a theft in Shirur area in July 2023, where a pistol was fired, and was released on bail in May 2024.
The police faced challenges due to the lack of CCTV footage. However, the local crime branch team, including Deepak Sable, Sandeep Ware, and Akshay Navale, patrolled the Kalyan-Nagar highway and spotted the accused fleeing on a bike.
After tracing the thieves to the city’s industrial estate, the police laid a trap and caught Kale and Bhosle. The successful arrest was made possible under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Pankaj Deshmukh, Additional Superintendent Ramesh Chopde, and Police Inspector Avinash Shilimkar, among others.
This breakthrough brings relief to residents of Pune district, who had been plagued by a surge in daytime burglaries. The police’s diligent efforts have resulted in the exposure of 17 crimes and the recovery of substantial stolen valuables.
