In the recent order issued by the Directorate of Defence Estates to the cantonment board president has informed that collection of vehicle entry fee by the Cantonment Board by installing barricades / kiosk / collection booths does not conform to the Government’s initiative towards smooth movement of good and traffic, and impedes the efforts towards the ease of doing business.

It has therefore, decided that collection of Vehicle Entry Fee by the Cantonment Boards be scrapped forthwith. The mechanism for seeking proportionate share from the State Government agency / municipality out of any such similar fees being imposed by them on entry of vehicles may be considered suitably.

Daman Singh, assistant DG (Cantonment) said that it is requested to issue necessary instructions to Cantonment Boards to discontinue the collection of vehicle entry fees and compliance report to be sent to the ministry of defence on immediate basis.
