In a swift response to an in-flight engine issue, an IndiGo flight with 181 passengers on board executed an emergency landing at the Patna airport. The incident unfolded on Friday.

The aircraft, identified as IndiGo flight 6E 2433, was en route to Delhi when it encountered a technical malfunction that led to one of its engines becoming inoperative. The flight had just taken off from the Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport in Patna when the pilot detected the issue and promptly initiated an emergency landing protocol.

Within three minutes of departure, the pilot reported the inoperative engine and made a decision to return to the origin airport. Despite the unexpected setback, the skilled pilot managed to safely land the aircraft at 9:11 am, ensuring the well-being of all 181 passengers and eight crew members on board. The airport’s operations were described as returning to normalcy following the incident.

The airline officials confirmed that the situation was brought under control efficiently and swiftly, with no further assistance required after the successful landing. The passengers, who were aboard IndiGo flight 6E 2433, were reported to be safe and without harm.

This occurrence comes on the heels of a recent incident involving another IndiGo flight bound for Dehradun. The flight, carrying 108 passengers, made an emergency landing at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport in New Delhi due to a technical snag. Despite the unplanned landing, there were no reported injuries, and the flight was deemed to have concluded safely.

IndiGo officials were quick to clarify that the emergency landing was not the result of an engine failure, contrary to some reports.
