Dharamshala to Mcleodganj journey now in 5 minutes

India, June 13, 2022: Considered as one of the ambitious infra projects in India, ‘Dharamshala Sky Way’ installed at Dharamshala (Himachal Pradesh) is an initiative of Tata Group. The skyway, which was inaugurated by Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Shri. Jairam Thakur, has achieved a milestone by completing one lakh successful and safe trips today. Importantly, out of the total number of passengers traveling across the country through this Skyway, 15% are tourists from Maharashtra.

The journey from McLeod Ganj to Dharamshala has become much easier due to the ‘Dharamshala Sky Way’ project which provides a fast and pleasant journey experience to tourists from all over the country. Recognized as one of the most ambitious projects in India, the Skyway has enabled tourists to cover the 35-minute journey from Dharamshala to McLeod Ganj in just 05 minutes.

Maharashtrian passengers accounts for 15% of total sky way commuters

Commenting on this milestone Neha Pandit, Director, Dharamshala Ropeway Ltd. said, “This ropeway transport facility is designed to offer speed and convenience to local commuters as well as all the tourists visiting Dharamshala from all over the country. Achieving a milestone of 1 lac trips, that too in a short period of just four months; is a clear indication of the faith and confidence shown by the passengers in the efficiency, quality and safety standards being observed at any of the projects of Tata Group. We would continue to successfully handle this project for a Concession Period of next 35 years.”

The Dharamshala Sky Way project is a joint effort of TRIL Urban Transport Pvt Ltd (Tata Realty and Infrastructure) by Tata Group of Companies, the Department of Tourism Himachal Pradesh and the Department of Civil Aviation.
