‘Didn’t clear JEE. But got the Coldplay Tickets today’, Says Unacademy Chairman Gaurav Munjal
In the midst of the ticketing frenzy for Coldplay, Unacademy CEO Gaurav Munjal considers himself lucky to have secured tickets for the British band’s upcoming shows in India in 2025.
Munjal compared the struggle to obtain the tickets to the challenging experience of passing the JEE, one of India’s most difficult entrance exams. He took to social media to share his excitement.
On X (formerly Twitter), Munjal shared, I didn’t clear JEE, but I managed to get Coldplay tickets today. It feels great.
Coldplay has announced performances in Mumbai, generating immense excitement that was evident in the ticket sales. The demand was so high that the BookMyShow website experienced significant delays.
Despite the rush, tickets sold out quickly, forcing many fans to turn to scalping websites, where tickets were listed for exorbitant prices, sometimes reaching lakhs for a ticket that originally cost only 4000.
It’s important to note that scalping is illegal in India, which raises questions about the validity of these tickets. Amidst this chaos, Gaurav Munjal’s post on X has gone viral.
He tweeted, ‘‘Didn’t clear JEE. But got the Coldplay Tickets today.’
