PUNE: Pune Police has arrested Vinay Aranha, the director of Rosary Education Group, in relation to the Lalit Patil drug case. Aranha was previously apprehended by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and was held at Taloja jail.

However, further investigations uncovered his involvement in helping Patil escape from Sassoon Hospital. This led Pune Police to request custody, which was granted by the court. Consequently, Arhana was taken from Taloja jail and arrested by Pune Police in connection with the Pune Drug Case.

Additionally, Arhana’s driver, Datta Doke, has also been arrested by the city police for aiding Patil’s escape. The ED has alleged that Aranha obtained loans totalling Rs 46 crore from Cosmos Cooperative Bank in Pune through fraudulent documentation. These funds were allegedly utilized to support his maintaining lifestyle.
