Sangli (Maharashtra), Oct 25 (UNI) Police in Maharashtra’s Sangli district seized Goa-made foreign liquor and a truck, of total value Rs 75 lakh, on Pune-Bengaluru National Highway on Wednesday.


In an official press release, the Local Crime Branch said its personnel laid a trap at Peth Naka in Islampur tehsil on the Kolhapur-Sangli border and stopped a suspicious-looking truck. After a thorough search, 48 thousand bottles of foreign Goa made liquor, valued at Rs 60 lakh, were found and seized.

LCB officials also seized the truck, valued at Rs 15 lakh, and arrested the truck driver Salman Makandar, resident of Daflapur in Jat tehsil of this district.
